🔵 Comparativos: ¿Qué son?

Los comparativos se usan para comparar dos cosas, personas o animales.

📌 Nos ayudan a decir si algo es más grande, más rápido o más bonito que otra cosa.

Ejemplo:
✅ The red pencil is bigger than the blue pencil.
(El lápiz rojo es más grande que el lápiz azul.)

📌 Estructura:
🔹 Adjetivo comparativo + than

Ejemplos:
✅ Brazil is bigger than Spain.
(Brasil es más grande que España.)
✅ Cars move faster than bicycles.
(Los coches son más rápidos que las bicicletas.)

🔴 Superlativos: ¿Qué son?

Los superlativos se usan para decir que algo es el más en un grupo.

📌 Nos ayudan a decir cuál es el más alto, el más rápido o el más bonito.

Ejemplo:
✅ The smallest box is mine.
(La caja más pequeña es mía.)

📌 Estructura:
🔹 The + adjetivo superlativo

Ejemplos:
✅ Everest is the highest mountain in the world.
(El Everest es la montaña más alta del mundo.)
✅ The blue tower is the largest building in the city.
(El edificio azul es el más grande de la ciudad.)

📝 Reglas para formar comparativos y superlativos

Tipo de adjetivo	Comparativo	Superlativo
1 sílaba (normal)	+ -er (big → bigger)	+ -est (big → the biggest)
1 sílaba (CVC: consonante-vocal-consonante)	Duplicamos la última letra + -er (thin → thinner)	Duplicamos la última letra + -est (thin → the thinnest)
Termina en -e	Solo añadimos -r o -st (large → larger / the largest)
2 sílabas (termina en -y)	Cambiamos y por i + -er (happy → happier)	Cambiamos y por i + -est (happy → the happiest)
2 o más sílabas (general)	More + adjetivo (important → more important)	The most + adjetivo (important → the most important)

🚨 Excepciones (Irregulares)

Algunos comparativos y superlativos no siguen las reglas normales. ¡Cambian completamente!

WRITING. Escribe frases que comparen a estos dos animales, o a estas dos personas.

Acuerdate que deberas usar el verbo to be y el verbo to have got.

Ejemplo:

1. The cheetah is a carnivore and lives in the savannah.
2. The koala is a herbivore and lives in the forest.
3. The cheetah is faster than the koala.
4. The koala is smaller than the cheetah.
5. The cheetah has got longer legs than the koala.
6. The koala has got thicker fur than the cheetah.
7. The cheetah is more active than the koala.
8. The koala is quieter than the cheetah.
